August 31: Village cable just ‘a test,’ Elmore says
Numerous students moving into the Student Residences at 10 Buick St. were teased with the luxury of cable television Monday. But according to Dean of Students Kenneth Elmore, those students witnessed a test and the channels will disappear “sometime in the next day or so.” The cable television channel waves running through an unspecified number of rooms in the Student Village were part of a trial run that was supposed to be completed before students moved in, said Elmore, who could not be reached for comment on Monday’s story. “What they witnessed was a test,” he said. “Sometime in the next day or so, all those channels that they have are not going to be there.” Pick up Friday’s special Orientation Issue and the semester’s first edition on Tuesday, Sept. 7 for more details on this developing story.
