Response to The Campus Conservative
I’m writing in response to the many inaccuracies in Ms. Stroll’s article. First, Iranian President Ahmadinejad’s remarks last week demonstrate his lack of understanding of politics and inexperience as a diplomat. Many Iranian politicians have tried to downplay his amatureish remarks. However, his inexperience does not excuse his horrific remarks but what else are we [...]
Protestors call for pullout
I was finishing up my last course in BU Law School’s Graduate Tax Program in the Spring of 1970 when student protests over the war in Vietnam closed down the BU Commonwealth Avenue campus. Exams were cancelled. Students throughout the U.S. were greatly impacted as there was a military draft for a war that was [...]
Weather, UMBC fall on men
It all seems kind of backward, doesn’t it? On a snowy Halloween weekend, the 6-7-3 Boston University men’s soccer team (2-2-3 America East) – picked to finish tops in America East in preseason polls – was being blanked by conference-leading University of Maryland-Baltimore County, a team who was told in preseason it would barely make the top three.
…and a pair of white-outs
LOWELL – Think ghosts and goblins are scary? How about giving up seven goals to a team that hadn’t scored in three games? Coming within two minutes of a home loss to a high school team? Suffering so many defensive breakdowns that the UMass-Lowell athletic scholarship fund, which receives $50 per River Hawk goal, is $350 richer on this Halloween morning? The blood that dripped from Eric Thomassian’s nose onto the Agganis Arena ice Saturday night wasn’t the grisliest sight on a downright spooky weekend for the Boston University men’s hockey team, which, as coach Jack Parker said, is clearly “still trying to find who we are.
Field hockey clinches conference top seed
The Boston University field hockey team ensured that the America East Conference Tournament comes to them for a second straight year, when the Terriers were victorious in a 3-1 match against the University of Maine on Sunday. “I think we played really well today,” said junior goalkeeper Erin Prediger.
