Upstart BU stays with No. 6 Green

Most unranked teams merely hope to keep up with Dartmouth College, ranked No. 6 in the nation. But not this team. The Boston University women’s ice hockey team saw its game with the Big Green as a chance to pull off another upset. But the Terriers (4-2-3, 2-1-2 Hockey East) were unable to stun Dartmouth and extend their unbeaten streak, losing 4-3 to the Big Green (1-0-0, 0-0-0 ECAC) at Thompson Arena on Saturday.

Heroics send Terriers to AE finals

There was 5:19 to go in the semifinal of the America East Tournament on Sunday afternoon for the Boston University women’s soccer team, and the University of New Hampshire had just broken the scoreless tie, plunging a knife into the top-seeded Terriers’ hopes.

The 3-0 loss to the University of Maryland-Baltimore County capped off the Terriers’ 2005 home campaign at 0-2-2 – without a single conference win.

n We are not offended by Dennis Reardon’s polemic (“Returning insensitivity to the Catholic Church,” page 7, Oct. 27) against the Catholic Church, simply bewildered that something so stupid and unsophisticated could be published in a respectable newspaper.
