Troupe performs under pressure

The lights were dim and empty seats were scarce as costume-clad students made their way into BU Central Saturday night, where Stage Troupe performers were scattered around rehearsing lines they learned in less than a day. Twice a year Boston University students participate in Combat Theater, an event in which performers generate and perform skits based on a particular theme.

There and back again

There has been a recent trend in certain circles – the ones that are very tiresome at your dinner party – to rename Thanksgiving, to call the holiday Native People’s Day. This is ridiculous. If you want to be politically correct about the name, fine, but don’t take away my day to celebrate this country’s flawed but important colonial genesis.

Lewis draws laughs from BU audience

Upon entering Boston University’s School of Management auditorium Friday night, Jerry Lewis received a standing ovation from the audience before his live interview with WBUR-FM’s Robin Young. Lewis appeared at BU to promote his new book Dean and Me, which is a biographical account of his partnership with singer Dean Martin.
