Students look to internet over library sources for final papers
With only two weeks of the semester left, many Boston University students are facing looming deadlines for final papers and say they prefer using online sources to conduct research over the university’s libraries. Some university professors do not always specify how their students should research background information for papers assigned, allowing many students to opt for the ease and speed of the internet.
ENG launches new alternative fuel effort
Boston University’s College of Engineering and an international company recently signed a license and development agreement for a research project that focuses on improving processes used to manufacture solid oxide fuel cells, an alternative energy source.
Mass. considers economic rebuke to Sudan
Massachusetts lawmakers made an international statement last week when they suggested banning the state pension board from investing in companies conducting business in conflict-ridden Sudan. An estimated 400,000 civilians in Sudan have been killed since February 2003, when a government-sponsored militia, the Janjaweed, began massacring civilians in the Darfur region, which the government deemed disloyal to Sudan, according to the Save Darfur Coalition.

With the countdown to the semester’s end in full swing, Boston University officials say finding campus outlets and focusing on individual practices can help students cope with final exam stress. Danielsen Institute Clinical Services Director George Stavros said the institute sees an influx of new patients during the time leading up to final exams.
