PC fries Icedogs
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Boston University men’s ice hockey team wasn’t the first to witness the fact, but in a 4-1 loss to No. 19 Providence College Thursday, it realized something that maybe didn’t come through loud and clear the last time it played at Schneider Arena: these Friars are for real.
Turning it on
For five games, the BU men’s basketball team’s season looked in doubt. And for five minutes, the Terriers’ game against the University of New Hampshire last night followed suit. But in both cases, Corey Hassan and Omari Peterkin wouldn’t have any of it.
Icedogs win 11th in a row, squeaking by UMass in OT
Hovering below expectation and sitting under .500, the Boston University men’s hockey team can’t even think of unbeaten streaks yet. They’d have to turn in back-to-back consistent efforts first. Things weren’t always so Jekyll and Hyde for the Terriers.
The Whole Truth
This column has been lots of fun for me and I’ve had a great time writing it all year. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate the opportunity I was given and I want to thank all of you for reading. That’s why I decided at the beginning of the year to dedicate this last column to answering some of the letters you sent me.
Ampersand
The Daily Free Press, also called the FreeP, the Crossword, the Wiffle Ball Field and Satan’s [expletive deleted]hole, was created in 1970 from incoming president John Silber’s rib and baptized by the water of the crisp, clean Charles River. As THE independent student newspaper at Boston University, the FreeP contains a staff of mostly models and glamourati, who pride themselves on working long hours and receiving low grades.
