Japanese professor Zenryu Shirakawa dies Monday of unknown causes

Boston University Japanese professor Zenryu Shirakawa was discovered to have died of unknown causes this weekend in his home after beign absent from class Monday morning. He was 63. Shirakawa, who lived in Revere, missed his Japanese civilization class Monday morning, prompting three students to inquire about his whereabouts to the modern foreign languages and literatures department.

The recent death of Graduate School of Arts and Sciences international student Zhizhang He left a permanent mark on his closest friends, who said they were practically a second family to him at Boston University.
