The Boston University women’s hockey team may be on hiatus until Jan. 7, but junior captain Cara Hendry was far from resting. Against – and with – the best players in the Hockey East All-Star Game, she kept a pace that exceeded that of many there. She scored one of two Hockey East goals, as the conference’s best lost to the 2006 U.
Men pull through Maine
Luckily for the Boston University men’s basketball team, steaks come in cycles. After starting the season 0-5 facing the seventh-toughest schedule in the nation, the Terriers have now won their third straight with a 58-55 triumph over conference rival University of Maine on Saturday.
Gillespie keeps Green smothered
HANOVER, N.H. – As Jack Parker walked from the Thompson Arena ice and toward the visitors’ locker room during the second intermission Saturday, the comments started raining from the stands. Lining the railing that separates the tunnel from the bleachers, eight or nine Dartmouth College fans – some dressed in replica jerseys, all with years to come until puberty – pushed their way to the front to let the legendary coach know exactly how they felt about a certain member of the Boston University men’s ice hockey team.
