Jan. 13, 2006 began like every other normal day for Terrier hockey fans since the end of the 1997 season – embarrassingly mediocre. Although there have been some solid accomplishments, such as the Hockey East regular-season championship in 2000 and the surprising second-place finish last year, the ‘Dogs have not made noise on the national scene in eight years.

Perspective: Bush must lead a new Republican Revolution

I voted for Bush in 2004, partly as the lesser of two evils — the much lesser of two evils. On the war on terror and some economic issues, I thought Bush had done an above-average job, and I was also optimistic about his plans for a second term. With the first re-election of a Republican president and a Republican Congress since Calvin Coolidge in 1924, I believed that the Republican Revolution could finally overthrow the welfare, tax-and-spend, regulatory state — or at least place it under a state of siege.

Stand-up comedy entertains us because it’s about real life experiences and it’s a personal encounter between the comedian and the audience. But as much as I like stand-up, I have never seen any Muslim girls as stand-up comedians. This is a crying shame, because we definitely have enough material to keep us going for a while.
