Deal Me In
Tonight, somewhere on the Boston University campus, a group of five to seven students will break the law. They won’t be robbing the banks in the George Sherman Union. They won’t be trafficking illegal drugs or arms. They won’t vandalize public property or commit larceny – of either the grand or petty persuasion.
The Unabashed American
Earlier this semester I wrote a candid piece about how unnecessary it was for Americans to squander their time on math, science and numbers in general. In response, this newspaper received numerous letters from math and science geeks who undoubtedly took time out of their busy schedule of watching Stargate SG-1 to complain about me.
Ampersand
The end of the semester. A time for reflection, a time for admiration, a time for making up headlines. Yes, that’s right. We here at the ol’ Free Press always think the end of the semester is the appropriate time to reexamine some of the headlines we refused to run the first time around.
Staff Edit: What inauguration?
It’s not every day that you can attend a presidential inauguration. For months, Boston University’s Inaugural Advisory Committee planned a series of events in honor of Robert Brown’s formal installation as the 10th president of Boston University. Yesterday’s inauguration ceremony at Agganis Arena attracted a host of faculty, administrators and honored guests, including Boston Mayor Tom Menino and state Treasurer Timothy Cahill, a BU alumnus.
Letter to the Editor: Feldman and DiCristofaro need to respect the Union
It is wholly unacceptable for Mark DiCristofaro and Brooke Feldman to act as if they are above the Student Union. They’re not even officially in office yet and already they are threatening to violate the constitution. They have no right to do so. The fines levied against DiCristofaro and Feldman for grossly violating the Student Union Elections Committee´s rules are mild, and the vice president-elect and president-elect should be considering themselves lucky to get off so easy, rather than trying to weasel their way out of the punishment.
