Faculty push for broader investigation into COM dean’s conduct
College of Communication journalism faculty are pushing for a broader investigation into the conduct of Dean John Schulz, including possible allegations that he intimidated and threatened faculty members, according to an email sent Wednesday from department chair Robert Zelnick to Boston University Provost David Campbell.
Groups sue NIH to halt BU Biolab construction
A coalition of legal and advocacy groups, including the Conservation Law Foundation, announced at a press conference Thursday that they are suing the National Institutes of Health to halt construction of Boston University’s Level 4 Biosafety Laboratory in Roxbury.
COM dean may escape official investigation
College of Communication Dean John Schulz may avoid a full investigation into charges that he exaggerated parts of his resume, partly because his credentials were thoroughly examined when he first came to the university as a professor in 1995, according to Boston University Provost David Campbell.
O’ Rourke named permanent law school dean
Maureen O’ Rourke, a Yale graduate who has served as dean ad interim for the Boston University School of Law since 2004, was given the position permanently on May 11, months after she was named a finalist in two other national searches for law school deans.
Meghan Sennott, 20, lived ‘every minute to its fullest’
The short life of Meghan Sennott, who died Sunday morning in a bus accident in Peru, left a lasting impression on her friends, who say she was a person who loved and who was loved by all. Sennott, a College of Arts and Sciences junior, had finished studying tropical ecology through Boston University’s Ecuador program a week before the accident that left 13 dead and 40 injured.
