Late goal allows men to tie UMBC
It’s official. The Boston University men’s soccer team’s favorite number is one. The Terriers began league play Saturday by playing to a 1-1 draw with the University of Maryland-Baltimore County. It’s the seventh consecutive game where neither the Terriers nor their opponents have scored more than one goal.
No. 12 Terriers keep rolling
When senior co-captain Lauren Erwin scores a goal, for all intents and purposes, the game is over. Just ask Fairfield, Santa Clara and now Stony Brook. After dominating play for much of the afternoon, the No. 12 Boston University women’s soccer team needed just a lone goal from Erwin to defeat Stony Brook University, 1-0, at Nickerson Field Saturday in the opening game of America East play.
No. 12 Terriers keep rolling
Boston University opened up the conference schedule Saturday afternoon under cloudy skies, but the No. 12 Terriers would not let the gloomy weather keep them from staying hot as they defeated Stony Brook University 1-0, improving their record to 7-2-1 overall and 1-0-0 in America East Conference play.
PERSPECTIVE: Understanding the state of global politics, one Solo cup at a time
This July, during the first days of the Hezbollah/Israeli war, I lost a close game of Beirut to some guys from Boston College. It was Gardner Street, our turf, and so the scene lent itself to a playful microcosm: enemies lobbing insults and projectiles at each other, spewing accusations.
PERSPECTIVE: The myth of the lazy river
I will not lie, one of the reasons I applied to Boston University was because I heard there was a lazy river. Don’t get me wrong I also heard that the academics, extracurriculars and food were all sensational as well. But when I hear the words “lazy river,” there is a certain level of attraction that instantly pulls me in.
