Swimming and diving downed in tough meets
This past weekend was a weekend of almosts for the Boston University men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams. The men’s swim team lost a tough meet to Colgate University on Saturday at Lineberry Natatorium, 137-100. The women had an even closer bout with the Colgate Raiders, but still lost the meet by a score of 132-111.
BU Roundup: Seaman earns Player of the Week
With the prospect of never playing a game on Jack Barry Field again, Amy Seaman put matters on her own stick. The senior striker scored three goals in two home games to help the Boston University field hockey team secure the No. 1 seed in America East, earning herself conference Player of the Week honors Monday.
LERNER: Exploring the athleticism of living in a car
Living in a car isn’t exactly a sport, I’ll admit that. However, for this week I’m doing my best to try and pretend. There are only seven schools in the country competing in the Chevy Aveo Livin’ Large Challenge and our Boston University team of Allison Lavey and Jamie Williams are one of the frontrunners.
A Terrier Re-Run
The Boston University women’s cross country team cared little for surprises or suspense this past weekend. With an overpowering performance in Saturday’s America East Championships at the University of Maine, the Terriers captured their 10th conference title in the past 11 seasons.
For teeth, whiter is better
After the Halloween season comes to an end, many candy-lovers will have to deal with the inevitable consequence of consuming too many sweets: Those dreaded cavities. In years past, having a cavity filled was about the most that the average patient could expect out of a trip to the dentist’s office.
