GAVRISH: Feeling Blue in Boston
Friday night was supposed to make everything better. The New England Patriots had suffered a devastating loss in the AFC Championship a week before, and I was still trying to recover. But the men’s hockey team was going to take care of my woes because we were going to beat Boston College and everything would be right in the Boston sports world again.
Hartford doesn’t make BU’s path easier
You could say that the Boston University women’s basketball team has developed quite a rivalry with the University of Hartford over the past two years. However, even the most diehard Terriers fan would have to admit this rivalry has been a bit one-sided. Hartford has beaten the Terriers all six times the squads have met in the past two years, including two America East championship games.
Divide or Conquer
Yesterday, the Boston University men’s basketball team (7-12, 4-3 America East) made the journey up to the far corner of the country to get ready for tonight’s match-up against the University of Maine (10-11, 5-4). Last time the two teams met, BU emerged victorious, 65-63, at The Roof.
Terriers ready for streaking Wildcats
For all intents and purposes, the University of New Hampshire women’s ice hockey team is the class of Hockey East. The No. 5 Wildcats (18-3-4, 10-1-1 Hockey East), unbeaten in conference play since Nov. 2, invade Walter Brown Arena tonight for the first time this season.
LETTER: In regards to sex and dating, ‘let’s think ahead’
n I would like to commend Meredith Spencer on her accurate description of this generation’s “mating cycles,” (“The disparity between dating and drive-thru sex, Jan. 29, p. 7). The concept of dating is almost foreign in today’s culture; however, that does not mean acceptance and complacency are the appropriate means to deal with it.
