Cambridge group grades BU’s environment initiative poorly

A relatively new Cambridge-based research organization graded Boston University poorly for recycling programs and financial disclosure, among other categories. The Sustainable Endowments Institute gave BU an overall “D” grade in the first College Sustainability Report Card, which ranked 100 private universities in the country.

Ad ploy mistaken as bomb scare

The Boston University Police Department dispatched many of its resources yesterday afternoon to address the bomb scare that was later revealed as a marketing ploy, officials said. City and state police found nine suspicious objects yesterday, including one near the BU Bridge, that were planted two to three weeks ago as an advertising campaign for Cartoon Network’s “Aqua Teen Hunger Force.

A Turner Broadcasting Company advertising plan, which placed magnetic devices with lights in several Boston locations, yesterday alarmed city, state and federal agencies, who believed the suspicious boxes might have contained explosives. Similar boxes were found in Somerville and various locations in Boston, including underneath the BU Bridge.
