Cardinal defeat
Now the fun begins. After putting the finishing touches on its regular season with a 12-9 Senior Day victory over Stanford University on Sunday, the surging Boston University lacrosse team, victorious in seven straight games, is just two wins away from the unthinkable: an NCAA Tournament appearance.

Five seniors on Boston University women’s lacrosse team took their final pre-game walk to midfield yesterday in a recognition of their collegiate achievements. One by one, walking arm in arm with their parents, Nicole Cooper, Kait Gentry, Noelle Hopper, Angie Martin and Alex Mount were introduced as part of a renovated Senior Day celebration established by the last year’s graduating Terriers.

n Two weeks ago, I was shocked once again when a maniac took so many innocent lives at Virginia Tech. I focused on the many news events that followed this tragedy in my home state. I reflected on the campus, wrapped in such scenic beauty, where my many of my friends attended and later taught.

n The fans of free choice at Boston University should be outraged. On Monday, April 23, I was discriminated against during a routine visit to the BU Pub. While former manager John Rommard was more than welcoming to every legal practice students once enjoyed on the Pub’s patio, new management has seen fit to challenge these established ways.
PERSPECTIVE: ASL classes should fulfill language requirements
I write in response to recent articles about the acceptance of American Sign Language (ASL) for foreign-language requirements. As the faculty member who submitted proposals to the College of Arts and Sciences Academic Policy Committee (APC) in both 1993 and 2004 (at the request of students who lacked standing), I would like to address several issues.
