BU to add 2 administrative posts

Boston University will announce two top administrative positions as the semester comes to a close — a chief investment officer who will oversee the now-billion-dollar endowment and an associate provost who will work to bridge BU’s undergraduate colleges through academics.

Final Week: President to sign off on Guest Policy proposal

Boston University President Robert Brown said he will sign off on the new relaxed Guest Policy proposal, which passed through a university council Friday and now awaits the president’s approval before it goes into effect in the fall. Brown expressed confidence Friday in the proposal, which will be presented to him by Dean of Students Kenneth Elmore in coming days.

Freshman returns after missing for almost 30 hours

College of General Studies freshman Sara Vasquez returned to her Warren Towers residence unharmed this morning after she was missing for nearly 30 hours, according to her friends. “[Vasquez is] completely safe. Everything was completely fine,” said CGS freshman Rissa Freedman. Vasquez returned to Warren at approximately 7:30 a.m., Freedman said, and was wearing the same outfit she had last been seen in Saturday evening.

BU softball coach Shawn Rychcik flat-out knows how to recruit

Recruiting is the key for any college coach. It’s a delicate process, convincing a high school athlete that your team – out of the hundreds of possible options — is the correct choice for him or her. But if you can’t do it, you won’t succeed for long in the world of collegiate athletics.

The America East Championships have not even started, but the No. 74 Boston University women’s tennis team has already earned a spot in the semi-finals tomorrow afternoon. BU earned the top seed and a first-round bye in the championships after posting an 11-5 record this spring, and the women are seeking the program’s 14th consecutive conference title.
