Court requires further review for BU biolab
Construction of a Boston University Biosafety Level-4 Laboratory in the South End will continue, even though the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court yesterday upheld a prior ruling that the final environmental impact report for lab that is 70 percent complete was “arbitrary and capricious.”
BU still giving testimony in Shattuck suit
Boston University is still providing defense testimony in a civil action suit filed by the parents of a College of General Studies student who was killed in 2005 after being struck by a commuter rail near her West Campus dormitory, an attorney for the plaintiff said.
Assault, collision reports raise safety concerns on campus
A female visitor to Warren Towers reported she was sexually assaulted in a bathroom on the 16th floor of Shields Tower early Sept. 30. She described her attacker as a white man in his early 20s, 5-foot-10 and weighing 170 pounds, according to the Boston University Police Department.
Journalism dept. seeks independence from COM
After a Boston University committee rejected a proposal for a separate journalism school following an evaluation of the College of Communication in May, some journalism professors are fighting to keep some department sections separate from public relations and mass communication.
