DEB: W. Hoops flying under the radar

The Boston University winter sports scene looks pretty bleak right now. With four suspensions looming over the men’s hockey team and the news that freshman forward Will Creekmore is leaving the 3-6 men’s basketball team, now would seem an appropriate time to point out an unsung storyline in BU sports.

In general, Dennis Wolff keeps his comments about a player — whether on his team or the opposition — reserved. Anyone who scores 15 to 20 points or grabs six to 10 rebounds tends to be a “very good player.”

26-7 run dooms Terriers against Crimson

For the second straight game, it was a tale of two halves for the Boston University women’s basketball team. Last Wednesday, the Terriers struggled in the first half against Brown University, but answered with a 21-4 run in the second half en route to a 59-38 victory.

Four suspended players to resume play Dec. 30

The four Boston University men’s hockey players who were suspended last Wednesday for violating team rules will return to the lineup Dec. 30 against Merrimack College, coach Jack Parker announced yesterday afternoon.
