WHITROCK: Beanpot wins don’t equal relevance
Feb. 4 is fast approaching, and I’m sick to my stomach. Yes, I know the Terriers are defending Beanpot champions. Yes, I know they are scoring goals early and often, and have so much offensive firepower that no opponent’s lead is safe.
Revenge best served on ice
The Boston University women’s ice hockey team has a chance to exact revenge. BU (8-11-3, 5-5-1 Hockey East) travels to Providence College’s Schneider Arena tonight, 11 days after the Friars (11-10-3, 6-3-2) beat the Terriers, 3-1, at Walter Brown Arena.
Roof a true home court
Case Gymnasium has provided a true home-court advantage for the Boston University women’s basketball team. Night after night, Terrier fans have watched BU demolish the opposition, including a 21-point victory over the University of Rhode Island and 49-point beatdown on conference foe Stony Brook University.
Scotty B good at Maine
The Terriers weren’t afraid of change. After a shift in offensive philosophy for the Boston University men’s basketball team (6-14, 3-5 America East), sophomore forward Scott Brittain shifted his play, turning in his best performance of the season as the Terriers defeated the University of Maine (6-15, 2-6), 56-49, last night at Alfond Arena.
Moment of Lies
It’s official: the reality television craze has come to a pathetic peak with Fox’s new game show, The Moment of Truth. Truth joins the ranks of other delayed guessing games.
