As small schools drop SAT requirements, big universities are unlikely to follow, experts say
Some college-bound high schoolers may not have to worry about waking up early on a Saturday morning to take the SAT, as a growing number of universities moves to cut standardized test scores from application requirements. As of fall 2009, Smith College and Wake Forest University will no longer require prospective students to submit SAT or ACT scores, joining an expanding list of liberal arts colleges that do not accept the test scores or leave them as optional.

The Nashville Predators traded up two spots to take Boston University’s sophomore-to-be with the seventh overall pick in the first round of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft Friday at Scotiabank Place in Ottawa, Ont., making the 18-year-old center the fourth-highest selection in program history.

Residents vent frustration over Biolab ruling
Residents of Roxbury and South Boston vented frustration with the continuing construction of Boston University’s Level 4 Biosafety laboratory to a National Institutes of Health spokeswoman yesterday at Saint Patrick’s Parish Church in Roxbury, saying they remain unsatisfied with the explanations lab officials have given.
