Wilson to return for sophomore season
Colin Wilson is returning to the Boston University men’s hockey team for his sophomore season, multiple media outlets reported Monday. The 18-year-old forward, who was selected by the Nashville Predators with the seventh overall pick of last month’s National Hockey League Entry Draft, has opted for another year at the collegiate level instead of kickstarting his professional career.
Gerald Tsai Jr., trustee emeritus and university benefactor, dies at 79
Boston University trustee emeritus Gerald Tsai Jr., who donated the Tsai Performance Center to the College of Arts and Sciences, died July 9 of multiple organ failure. He was 79. Tsai, a fund manager and financier who attended BU in the late 1940s, arrived in Boston after growing up in Shanghai, China.
BMC names new chief of trauma surgery
July 1 — The Boston Medical Center named its new chief of trauma surgery Friday to replace Erwin Hirsch, who died in a boating accident last month and had held the position for 25 years, officials said. Peter Burke, current BMC chief of surgical critical care, will take over today after nearly 10 years of service to the center’s intensive care and trauma units, according to a BMC press release.
