Blowout win at UNH extends streak to 12

Before Sunday’s game against the Boston University women’s basketball team, University of New Hampshire juniors Candace Williams and Amy Simpson ranked third and fourth in America East scoring with 20.9 and 14.6 points per game, respectively, in conference play.

Terriers take three points in Orono

Now in the home stretch of the 2009 season, the No.1 Boston University men’s ice hockey team split a weekend series with the University of Maine, winning Friday night’s contest, 7-2, before settling for a 2-2 tie Saturday.

The Terriers were at a conference-best 4-0 in shootouts under Hockey East’s new policy, which rewards shootout wins in conference play with two points and a shootout loss with one, while both count as ties in the NCAA records.
