BU employee reports robbery

A Boston University employee was allegedly robbed by three men in front of the Metcalf Center for Science and Engineering’ Thursday evening, BU Police Department spokesman Sgt. Jack St. Hilaire said.

CGS to release profs.

The College of General Studies is cutting its natural science division in half, meaning a handful of non-tenured professors will not be asked to return in the fall, a CGS professor confirmed. The cuts come just weeks after President Robert Brown said faculty would not be affected by layoffs.

BU officials talk SCOE

Although Boston University officials were unable to disclose the cost of maintaining the Sargent Center for Outdoor Education in interviews Tuesday, they said BU intends to close the center at the end of August because of budget concerns.
