Terrier defense stands out in shutout win

Mention defense in baseball or softball to most people and a few things may immediately come to mind: Willie Mays’ ‘The Catch’ in Game 1 of the 1954 World Series; the golden mitt of Ozzie Smith at the shortstop position during the 1980s and early 1990s; the ball going off the noggin of Jose Canseco in the outfield and going over the fence for a home run; Buckner.

Hard-y to hit against

Senior Cassidi Hardy allowed just one hit in the Boston University softball team’s 5-0 rout of Green Line rival Boston College yesterday in the Eagles’ home opener at Shea Field. Senior Nora Militz hit the game-winning home run in the top of the second inning and was 3-for-3 in the batter’s box.

LETTER: More meatless meals a must

I would like to compliment Ms. Roshan and other students for speaking out about the lack of meatless options available at Boston University (‘Vegetarian options bland as tofu, students say,’ March 24).

Pondering Passover

The other day, while wandering the plentifully packed aisles of Shaw’s, I came upon something spectacular: the Passover preparation aisle. Now, being a Jewish girl, I have seen my fair share of matzo – but this display was something else.
