A season to remember

Jack Parker walked into the room minutes after the Boston University men’s hockey team wrestled the national championship away from Miami University in an overtime thriller. He pulled out his chair, took his seat in front of the microphone and breathed deeply, the strain of a season’s worth of close calls visible on his face.

Summer blockbusters

Apparently, this summer is when we’re going to feel the effect of the writers’ strike that took place from November 2007 to February of last year. Big-budget Hollywood scripts generally take a year and a half to go from the writing phase to the movie’s release.

Summer eats and treats

Summer has arrived. Whether you are still under the strange delusion that there are any transitory seasons in Boston, the weather has warmed and people are ready to jump-start the sagging economy with the promise of outdoor dining and fresh seafood.

Venturing off campus

The thought of graduation always seemed to float around in my head, unattached and intangible, a fat fuzzy cloud of tassels and square hats, somewhere far off in the distance. Then, all of a sudden it was just here and that just scares me.

I’m sitting on Christine’s couch, being harassed to write my column. Unfortunately, my brain is fried. The combination of an afternoon of sun and an evening of ‘Gossip Girl’ and cr’egrave;me brul’eacute;e Hagen Daaz has gone to my head.
