LETTER

I was interested to see your Nov. 2 piece on the Marsh Chapel Haunted House. However, I was extremely disappointed that it was used to once again paint fraternities in a negative light. The article mentions that the purpose of their haunted house was to allow an alternative for those wishing not to attend fraternity parties. I believe that you have completely ignored my organization’s efforts for the past six years. On this very same night, we hosted our sixth annual Chi Phi Haunted House at the Student Activities Office gym. We had over 250 guests and raised $1,200 for our local charity, The Jimmy Fund.’ ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘ ‘ Why not publish a positive story about the work Greek Life does for the community?’ Instead, you choose to ignore us and take another opportunity to jab at us as a whole. Perhaps if your writers gave us a chance instead of harboring a negative bias as you have consistently done in the past, you would learn something new and positive about Greek Life.’

Fraternities on campus have been growing each semester despite the efforts of your paper and the administration to sully our reputation.’ I am sure this growth will continue next spring and can only hope that the FreeP will at least attempt to recognize Greek Organizations as a positive entity of the Boston University community.

Sincerely,
Geraud Gonzales
