STAFF EDIT: Good deed? Meet punishment

When United States citizen Laura Silsby and nine other members of her Idaho church were detained in Haiti after trying to smuggle children out of the country and into the Dominican Republic, she had one thing to say: ‘We were trying to do the right thing,’ she told The Associated Press.

STAFF EDIT: Addressing endowment dips

Financial contributions made by Boston University alumni to their alma mater have been consistently and notoriously slim. WHITING: Shoot for the moon: Pay cash up front

But I do know a handful of people who actually enjoy the concept of space travel, and while I personally am not too keen on the idea of getting blown up while en route into a dark, starry abyss, I still enjoy their company, mostly because they are smarter than I am, and because they laugh if I make failed allusions to the cosmos. Often, this makes me feel clever and like I got my money’s worth in the Core Curriculum’s Natural Sciences class.
