Mac Attack

The following reports were taken from the Boston Police Department news blog from April 7 to April 12.

At 6:35 p.m. on April 6 a man in the South End halted an officer on bicycle patrol and pointed out a man she said had stolen her computer on Arlington Street. The officer chased the suspect to Church and Shawmut Avenue where the suspect unhanded the victim’s MacBook. The victim then identified both the laptop and the thief. The victim later told police that she had accidentally left her computer in its case by the side of her car and when she returned she saw the suspect take the computer out from the case and place it under his shirt. The victim said she then yelled, causing the suspect to run.

HAWKER HAWKED DOWN

At the corner of Boylston Street and Ipswich Street on April 6 at 6:53 p.m., police patrolling the Red Sox game noticed a man displaying a sign that read, “I need tickets!” The police watched the individual until they saw another man approach the sign holder. Police then questioned the men and said they found that the sign holder was attempting to sell tickets that he had originally purchased for $47 for $100. Police arrested the sign holder.

SMACK DOWN

On April 6 at about 9:00 p.m., a man walking down Meridian Street in East Boston drew the attention of police when he allegedly waved his hand aggressively at a female he was having a loud argument with. The police stopped the two individuals to investigate. When the police took the name of the man they found that there was a warrant for the man’s arrest for a stolen motor vehicle and for providing false identification to the police. The police arrested the man and found three bags of heroin on his body.

IT’S THE REMIX TO IGNITION

On April 9 at about 9:30 p.m. police received a call that said a pedestrian was hit by a car around 3694 Washington St. The victim was taken to Brigham &’ Women’s hospital. The police spoke to witnesses who said that the driver who hit the woman originally tried to flee the scene of the crime. One witness allegedly ran to the moving car and shouted for the driver to stop. When the car did not stop, according to the police accounts, the witness reached into the car window and pulled the keys from the driver’s ignition. A second witness reportedly blocked the driver by driving in front of them.
