M.bball just misses out on beating La Salle
Freshman guard D.J. Irving’s fourth and final free-throw attempt of the game sailed through the air and agonizingly bounced off of the rim and into the waiting hands of opposing guard Earl Pettis.

Heading into last weekend’s contest with then-No. 8 Boston College, No. 7 Boston University men’s hockey coach Jack Parker said a momentous two games for either the Terriers or Eagles could provide a big lift for the victors.

During Monday’s practice, No. 7 Boston University men’s hockey coach Jack Parker decided to shake things up with a game of shadow ball – basically a regular game of hockey, except without the puck. An idea taken from Ken Burns’ “Baseball” documentary that touched on the Negro League tradition of playing games without a ball, shadow ball is designed to help players get a better feel for the game and, in the case of hockey, play better away from the puck.
W. basketball ends four-game losing streak by beating UMass
The Boston University women’s basketball team snapped a four-game losing streak on Wednesday at Case Gymnasium, when it beat the University of Massachusetts by a final score of 66-49. Sophomore guard Mo Moran finished with 20 points and seven assists.
M. basketball set to face Partin’s old squad La Salle
Boston University men’s basketball coach Patrick Chambers recruited La Salle University sophomore forward Aaric Murray back when Murray was a senior in high school and Chambers was the associate head coach at Villanova University. But Murray chose to bring his talents to La Salle instead, and Villanova ended up with another skilled forward by the name of Mouphtaou Yarou.
