In an article published in the Nov. 10 print edition titled “‘Rhee-act: Bostonians protest suggested privatization of education,” the author wrote that according to fliers handed out at the protest, WGBH paid Michelle Rhee $50,000.00 to speak. However, this is incorrect. WGBH did not pay or contribute any money. Rhee came as part of The Boston Speakers Series which WGBH is a media sponsor for.
“WGBH has partnered with the 2011/12 Boston Speaker Series and is proud to help bring  intelligent, thought-provoking speakers to Boston including David McCollough, Frank Abagnale, Tom Brokaw and Michelle Rhee,” said Jake Messier, a spokesperson for WGBH. “As a media partner, we promote the events on-air and through our member communications. The content  is determined by the company, the Cambridge Speakers.”
