Remains of human body found in Charles River by BU sailing pavilion

Massachusetts State Police discovered the remains of a human body in the Charles River Monday afternoon.

The remains, found shortly after 12 p.m., were found near the Boston University Sailing Pavilion, which is located on Storrow Drive, according to a report issued by the MSP Monday.

Members of the State Police Marine Unit and Crime Scene Services Section responded to the scene, in addition to State Police detectives, the report stated.

The MSP is not disclosing further details at this time, an MSP spokesman said. The report stated the remains demonstrate no danger to the public, and any further information will remain confidential “to protect the integrity” of an ongoing investigation.
