Boston University Police Chief Thomas Robbins sent an announcement to students Tuesday afternoon via email, warning them of six incidents of a male exposing himself to women.
The incidents, which may be linked, occurred in the north Brookline area just off campus near Babcock Street, Pleasant Street, Freeman Street and James Street, Robbins wrote in the email. Three incidents occurred in January and three more occurred on Sunday.
The subject is described as “a white male in his mid-twenties with brown/blonde hair, 5ft-10in., thin build and wearing glasses,” the announcement stated.
“We have increased our patrol activity in this area,” Robbins said in the announcement. “We are reminding people to be alert, pay attention to your surroundings and always report anything suspicious.”
The incidents all occurred between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. and the victims were not physically assaulted, Robbins said.
Robbins closed the email by advising students to exercise caution in their surroundings, have company when walking at night and to contact police to report any suspicious activty.
