A power outage Sunday night left South Campus residents in the dark for about an hour.
Boston University Police Department received the first notification of the power outage at around 10:15 p.m, BUPD Sergeant Jeff Burke said. The power came back at around 11:17 p.m., according to BUPD.
College of Arts and Sciences sophomore Andrew Lai was with a few friends watching ’24’ when the electricity was shut off.
‘It was more of an inconvenience,’ he said. ‘Because everything we do here is electricity dependent. But it’s no big deal.’
Lai said there had been another power outage at South Campus last year but that was not bad either.
Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences sophomore Richard Rueda also didn’t think the power outage was a problem.
‘I’m from the mountains of Connecticut where the power goes out a lot,’ he said. ‘So it doesn’t bother me that much.’
At press time, BUPD said NStar, the electrical company BU receives its power from, was still working on determining the cause of the outage. ‘
