Jan. 16, 11:16 a.m.:
Police pulled over a vehicle for driving on the sidewalk at the intersection of Malvern and Gardner streets in addition to other illegal maneuvers. The operator produced a license from Wisconsin, but fumbled when asked to produce registration and offered to return to his apartment to retrieve it.
The 19-year-old female passenger, identified as a Boston University student, produced a passport but reported her license was stolen in New York. Both passenger and operator seemed to be under the influence of a controlled substance.
The passenger and operator were placed in custody and transported to District 14 for booking. Police seized a total of 20 items classified as drugs and drug equipment.
Items recovered from the vehicle included several quantities of marijuana, glass pipes with residue, caffeine pills and a glass container with a cork top containing a substance believed to be hashish.
Items recovered from the passenger’s purse included an eight-inch blade knife and two pink hollowed-out Chapstick containers containing a white powder.

House Call
Jan. 16, 2 p.m.:
A 20-year-old female at 1687 Commonwealth Ave. reported that upon hearing a noise in her apartment, she emerged from her bedroom to find a 5-foot-4-inch medium-build male wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with a black sweatshirt underneath with the words “All Drain” on the chest area, light blue jeans, work boots and a dark-colored baseball cap standing in the dark in her hallway.
After the female observed her front door was ajar, she questioned the unknown man. He responded he was working upstairs with “the plumbing company” and needed to check to make sure she did not have a back flow in her apartment.
The unknown man had no tools with him. He said he had to get them and proceeded to rush out of the apartment down the hallway. The building was secured and police directed a search of the building. Nothing was reported stolen from the resident’s apartment.
