Hi,
I’m writing to complain about the lack of information given out at this school. Most importantly, the lack of information given about the Back Bay Ball. How many people does BU actually get to go to the BBB? It seems like they wouldn’t get many as the ball is not widely advertised. Or perhaps I’m looking in the wrong places? Every search on our website pulls up sites that promise more information in the future or websites of people who have gone and then posted pictures. How can one find out the mere date of this ball?
I only know there is a ball because I heard rumors during my sophomore year. However, I was not informed as to when or where the ball would be. Nor was I informed as to when or where to get the tickets. This seems like a fatal flaw in the planning of a big University wide event.
Maybe I’m missing the point, though. Maybe the Back Bay Ball is an insider thing and only those with the hook-ups can participate in such an event. Therefore BU refuses to widly advertise this ball so that they don’t get any of the “unhip outsiders.”
Basically, I’m just tired of hearing rumors about cool things and then not being able to find the facts about them. Perhaps that should be the job of the Daily Free Press. It would be nice to have the Daily Free Press have a calendar on their website that actually shows events (I have looked at your calendar link and no events are shown).
Hoping for some answers, Alice Doty CAS ’03 [email protected]
