The following reports were taken from the Allston-Brighton District D-14 crime logs from Jan. 21 to 28
Officers responded to a report of a stabbing at an International House of Pancakes in Brighton at 5:16 p.m. Jan. 26. The suspect entered the IHOP because he wanted to speak to his roommate who worked at the restaurant with him. When his roommate told him to leave because he was working, the man grabbed a knife from the counter and attempted to stab his roommate, stabbing another employee that tried to block it. The man fled, but officers stopped him outside the restaurant.
STOP LIGHT FIGHT
A woman told police that a man in a gray van was following her while she was driving down Washington Street honking at her at 10 a.m. Jan. 22. The woman pulled over to let the man go around her but he did not. When the two cars reached a red light, the man pulled up beside the woman, said “I should tear your head off your body and kill you!” spit on her car twice and threw a Sharpie marker at her. When the man attempted to leave his vehicle, the light turned green and the woman drove off.

Officers responded to a disturbance in Brighton when a male claimed his roommate had gotten into a fight with one of his friends at 3:08 a.m. Jan. 26. The argument escalated until the roommate grabbed a shovel and allegedly threatened to hit the man and his friend. Both parties had been drinking.

A drunk pedestrian was walking down Harvard Avenue in Allston picking fights with people on the sidewalk around 9:00 p.m. Jan. 26. When passing a video store, the man used his forearm to strike and break its glass window. After hearing the crash, the owner followed the man down the street while an employee called the police. The man was caught and arrested after a short chase on foot.
“FIRE” BIRD
Boston police officers responded to a report of car vandalism at 5:49 p.m. Jan. 22. The car owner’s son told officers that unknown persons set his mother’s car on fire at about 6:30 a.m. while it was in front of his home. The male said he called the fire department earlier that day and they concluded that the fire was due to arson, but the department had no leads in the case.
KEEP IT IN THE MOSH PIT
Officers responded to a reported assault around 3 a.m. Jan 27. The man said he was jumped from behind by three males who knocked him down and kicked him repeatedly. One of the men in the group said he was Jewish and they repeatedly called the other male a “Nazi” while they kicked him. The man had several cuts on his face and head, and said that he may have seen the culprits before at various punk-rock shows.
