n I’m afraid there were a number of errors in your article on Dungeons ‘ Dragons (“D’D offers grant to up-and-coming Dungeon Masters,” Jan. 29, p. 1), least of which was the assertion that the Boston University Roleplaying Society, which runs D’D as well as other games, does not exist.
I feel it is infinitely more important to correct the malicious misrepresentation of our skin tones. It is true that the club’s treasurer and I are both of Irish heritage, and accordingly pale-skinned; however, our president emeritus/staff advisor is of Central American descent, and thus incapable of being “pasty” due to her natural levels of melanin. Her skin could more accurately be described as “caramel,” or perhaps “copper.”
Indeed, we are proud to boast a wide-range of skin hues among our dozens of members. It is also necessary, though slightly less urgent, to assert that all of our officers did attend their proms with dates. I have not been able to take a comprehensive survey of the prom-date numbers among our members, but I assure you, you will be the first to hear about it when I do.
