Saddam’s time has run out; his enslaving of the Iraqi people is going to come to a very quick and abrupt end. His game playing, deceit and blackmail of the international community is in its final days.
Inspections in Iraq did not and will never work. As I pointed out back in October, if anything, Saddam is buying time with his continuous games to develop more weapons of mass destruction. There is one very important fact that whatever detection methods, there are always methods of countering their ability. This is just like the game between law enforcement agencies and criminals. Saddam is the biggest criminal this world has ever known, so he will use the mass of scientific wealth he has in the huge number of Iraqi scientists to overcome any means of detection.
Iraqi scientists have been and are still being forced to use their knowledge and skills by this dictator for his own personal agenda to build weapons of mass murder and destruction. Those that object must either have planned an escape route for themselves and their families or accept torture and death. Iraqi scientists will not and are unable to speak freely with the inspectors, and they fear for their families more than their own lives. They know that even if they are interviewed, their immediate family members must be with them and must be offered residency in another country. This whole operation will require a great deal.
To start with, the United Nations must not inform the Saddam regime of who, how or when they are going to interview any scientist. This must be done in complete and total secrecy somehow without the knowledge of the regime, and this by itself is hard to achieve. Once this is done, the UN must ensure the relocation of the scientist and his family to a third safe country before the interview.
The scientist must be protected and provided with means of living and not just brought to any country and let go. There are many issues, some social while others deal more with after the interview what about employment, their children’s education, their place of living?
These are just some of the hardships that are associated with such a simple phrase, which interview Iraqi scientists. Does the international community need more evidence to have their case against Saddam? Did Saddam provide evidence when he gassed thousands in Halabja, Northern Iraq in 1998? Did he provide evidence when he executed thousands after the 1991 uprising in Iraq?
How may more Iraqis must die and suffer before France and Germany accept the fact that Saddam is a criminal and must be dealt with? How may more Iraqis must die and suffer before France and Germany accept the fact that the Baath party is the Nazi party reborn and Saddam is the new Hitler?
Those countries that put their own interests before that of the world population do not they know that in every passing day, Saddam’s danger grows more and more till one day it will consume them. Did the French and other anti-war Europeans forget Hitler and the miseries of the Second World War? Did they forget that if it were not for the USA, they would still be under Nazi rule? What will happen if Saddam did, as reported, send some weapons of mass destruction and some scientists to Syria, or is planning to do that and from there to the terrorist groups that Syria support and aid?
The only answer that will resolve all of these what if questions is to go and extract Saddam from Iraq and make him and his gang of thugs pay for their 36 years of crimes against the people of Iraq, the region and the world. Support for President Bush and his efforts to rid of the world of this dictator is what all freedom-loving people must do. Every day this support is growing and the coalition of allies is growing, the end result that is now very close and within sight is freedom to the people of Iraq and liberation for the international community from the fear of Saddam’s regime.
No one wants or enjoys war (apart from Saddam) but sometimes war is forced upon the freedom fighters and they must answer the call of liberating and freeing the people of Iraq from this monster. Iraqis will answer the call, and they are looking forward to the day when the allied forces will fight hand in hand with them to break the walls of fear, oppression and the sun of freedom will shine all over Iraq and engulf the forces of darkness and evil.
Liberation of Iraq is a must and has to be done now.
