THE HILLS SOUNDTRACK
With a song list fit for a re-make of the movie Clueless, The Hills Soundtrack perfectly blends girl power beats with LA-loving lyrics. Featuring such break-up obsessed musicians as Imogen Heap, Good Charlotte and Lindsay Lohan, this CD is sure to speak to anyone who has ever realized they should have gone to Paris instead of sitting in a beach house for two weeks. “The Hills,” a spin-off of MTV’s “Laguna Beach,” documents Lauren Conrad as she struggles with the petrifying feat of moving 45 minutes away from home. Even though the show is anything but reality and LA isn’t nearly as clean as MTV portrays it, no one can deny the catchy and heart-felt lyrics of Superchick’s “One Girl Revolution” and The Pink Spiders’ “Little Razorblade.” However, more than one listen to this rich-girl-coming-of-age track list might launch a listener into a lifetime of hating Natasha Bedingfield or perhaps a newfound love for a show about girls in couture with daddy’s credit card.
