Student Union senators are looking at how to make more changes to the Guest Policy, Residence Life Committee members announced at Monday night’s weekly Senate meeting.
The committee will push for changes in the daily implementation of some current policies, like the amount of paper work students must fill out for guests, according to Vice President of Residence Life Mike Myers. The committee hopes to submit the proposals to Dean of Students Kenneth Elmore for review by Wednesday.
“Basically we’re going off the current set by the last changes,” he said. “They changed the Guest Policy. They were testing it. We’re saying students passed the first test and now it’s time we start going into how we can up the bar higher and give them more responsibility.”
The Residence Life Committee also announced that it is planning to research 35 different universities that currently have cable on campus. The focus will be on schools with sizes and locations similar to Boston University, such as New York University, the University of Miami and Northeastern University, among others. The findings will be presented to the newly formed cable committee when research is completed.
The Environmental Initiative Committee also announced that the University Professors Program and the Office of the Dean of Students will now use recycled paper. The committee hopes other colleges and offices to change to recycled paper, members said.
