n With Agganis Arena hockey recently ending this season, I am already missing the games. As season-ticket holders, my partner and I look forward to this season with great anticipation every fall.
The hockey is fun and fast and occasionally infuriating, but that is not the sole reason I keep coming back. What really gives the games the flavor of Boston are the students.
Every year the student sections grow bigger and now both ends of the rink are filled with the red and white jerseys worn by the students. This alone is impressive: Those jerseys are expensive. On a student budget, I cannot imagine they are easy to come by.
But it is the enthusiasm that is so infectious.
So I thank you, students, for your cheers and jeers. And your dancing and laughter. After a long week of work, the hockey games leave me feeling young and full of life again.
