Students danced the night away in their pajamas Friday in the Paradise Rock Club, and even though there were about 230 students in attendance, turnout for the second annual WTBU Pajama Party fell short of coordinators’ expectations.
The pajama party, sponsored by WTBU’s BU in the Morning and People Magazine switched its location from last year’s Copperfield’s to Paradise in order to accommodate more students, said WTBU Public Relations spokesman Adam Wescott.
“In retrospect, the Paradise was actually too big of a venue for this particular event, but we still have several events to look forward to this year,” he said.
School of Management sophomore Garett Wenig said the opportunity to wear his pajamas outweighed the attendance issue.
“It was great to be able to wear a wife-beater and pajama pants out on a Friday night,” he said.
The event was held to promote the BU in the Morning radio show, which airs weekdays from 10 a.m. to 12 a.m. Students were able to fill out People surveys, which were then entered into a raffle for prizes.
Those who attended were required to pay a $10 cover charge, which was reduced to $5 if the student was wearing pajamas. All profits went toward the WTBU general budget.
