‘TIS ONLY A FLESH WOUND
At 11 p.m. March 22, officers responded to a radio call in response to three drunk males causing a disturbance on Chester Street. Police observed two males walking on Chester Street who said they were on their way home from a social gathering on the same street, and they added that they were drinking and very intoxicated. A 21-year-old male with a cut on his right arm approached the officers with an unknown female while they were interviewing the two males.
As an ambulance responded to transport the injured male to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, the female told officers all the males had left the party to have a cigarette outside. The two males said they knew the injured male. One of the males said the 21-year-old may have cut his arm on a fence as they play-wrestled outside the gathering. One of the males said when he and his friends get drunk, they like to wrestle and have been play-wrestling since they were kids.
DIRTY MILK MONEY
At about 12:30 p.m. on March 7, a detective from the Boston Police Department School Police Unit received a telephone call from one of the officers assigned to Brighton High School. A teacher there reported that at the beginning of the school year she had purchased 18 Texas Instrument scientific calculators, all but six of which had been stolen.
The teacher said some of her students reported seeing some of the calculators for sale at Cheap Chic on Harvard Avenue in Brighton. On March 23, the detective and the teacher went to the store and spoke to its owner, who said two 15-year-old males had sold him three calculators two days earlier for about $4 total. The owner returned the calculators to the teacher and detective.
