Hooray and Hallelujah! The self-serving, close-minded reign of John Silber and his cronies on the board of trustees is finally coming to an end. With a reconstituted board and strong new governance standards in place, Boston University should attract dozens of top-notch candidates for its next president. And whomever is chosen, one hopes that he or she never loses sight of the fact that the responsibility of the president first and foremost is to meet the needs of students, faculty, and alumni, not those of the president.
