A person in a “mental health crisis” jumped off the Boston University Bridge onto Storrow Drive West Thursday morning, according to the Massachusetts State Police.

MSP Sergeant Gregory Jones wrote in a statement to The Daily Free Press the person was “conscious and alert,” as MSP transported them to a hospital. There is no available information about the person or their injuries, he wrote.
The BU community received a BU Alert at 9:09 a.m. about an emergency response to the area of BU Bridge and Storrow Drive.
The alert wrote there was no danger to the public.
A second BU Alert at 9:28 a.m. wrote the response to BU Bridge and Storrow Drive was “complete,” but traffic “may be impacted.”
BU Spokesperson Colin Riley said BU Police Department responded and assisted MSP, and he confirmed traffic was impacted.
