The following reports were taken from Allston-Brighton District 14’s crime logs from the period of Aug. 29 to Sept. 3.
A Brighton man resisted arrest and attacked several officers early Friday morning after being pulled over for driving without a license. He was attempting to flee with his girlfriend.
An officer spotted a 26-year-old male speeding the wrong way down Glenville Avenue.
The officer pulled the car over and asked to see his driver’s license.
The man told the officer the car belonged to his girlfriend — who sat beside him in the passenger’s seat — and that he did not have his driver’s license with him.
“It was stupid to drive like that but I’m really excited,” he told the police officers. “Me and my girlfriend are going to move to Texas and get away from here.”
After the officer determined the driver did not have a license, he asked the man to place his hands behind his back. He refused, wrestled two officers to the ground and began to run.
Several officers patrolling the area joined the chase on foot and found King hiding behind a concrete barrier on Cambridge Street. The man resisted the officers until they handcuffed him.
POLICE BADGER-ING
Officers arrested two men and a woman for disturbing the peace after they hindered the investigation of a party at 9 Randor Rd. in north Brighton on Tuesday night.
As the officers approached the door, they heard voices inside and beer bottles smashing against the walls. When they knocked on the door, a 21-year-old male cracked it open and, upon seeing the officers, slammed it shut.
“See ya later!” he said as he ran up the stairs into the apartment.
After the man ran, a second man returned to the door and allowed the officers in. Broken appliances and smashed bottles littered the floor and ketchup and mayonnaise covered the walls of the apartment.
As the first man yelled for people to run away, officers found a group of seven men and questioned them about the ruckus. Although the officers told the group to leave the apartment, two remained behind to question the first man’s arrest, demanding Officer William Kelley’s name and badge number. Kelley provided the information and continued to handcuff the man as a 21-year-old female grabbed his badge to see the number.
Kelley arrested the woman for disturbing the peace.
