Did anyone else see the irony in reading ‘The Daily Free Press strives for factual accuracy in all of its reports’ on the same page that Timothy Malcolm’s article ‘Council rejects bill to save jobs’ (Sept. 11, pg. 3)?
Malcolm misnamed one of Boston’s At-Large City Councilors (it’s Stephen J. Murphy, not Murray), and by only partially listing the districts of all the other named councilors, he missed the communities with which they are most closely identified. Councilor Kelly does represent the (traditionally liberal) South End, but he’s most vocal about (traditionally conservative) South Boston; and Councilor Consalvo does represent Mattapan, but he’s a lifelong resident of Hyde Park. This city reporter clearly needs a better understanding of Boston’s neighborhoods.
