Despite NEMO’s lack of organization and confusion in scheduling events, Boston listeners still got an earful of sultry and sensational beats Saturday night at Bill’s Bar in Kenmore Square. Expecting to hear from local band Vancouver’s Fancey, listeners were instead treated to Boston-bred Lucky Go Home. Clearly inspired by Elvis Presley, this band entertained the crowd while wearing cowboy hats and oversized belt buckles; the sound was a strange combination of an old Elvis record played on top of Franz Ferdinand’s signature dance beats. The crowd, benefiting from NEMO’s biggest sponsor, enjoyed free shots of Jameson Irish whiskey served by girls wearing glowing shot glasses around their necks. Combined with the whiskey, Lucky Go Home had everyone in the bar dancing like a southerner.
