In response to all the letters condemning CGS which have been published recently in the Free Press, I’d just like to comment on one point which doesn’t seem to have been considered. A class doesn’t have to be a hard science to be a challenging! One of my best friends from high school is a successful electrical and computer systems engineer at RPI. We spent two years in high school french together, so I can say with some confidence that the thought of basic french grammar would scare her a heck of a lot more than a computer logic design problem. There is no way to contrast the difficulty of french grammar with the difficulty of computer logic design because challenge is a relative term.
